Overview
In Instincts & Subtypes, you’ll learn the three instinctual drives and 27 subtypes. Every person has three instinctual drives with one that tends to be more central in our daily lives and relationships.
In Instincts & Subtypes, you’ll learn the three instinctual drives and 27 subtypes. Every person has three instinctual drives with one that tends to be more central in our daily lives and relationships. This primary instinct determines our Enneagram subtype.
The three instinctual drives include:
- Self preservation, which guides our relationships with home, food, security, family and warmth in personal relationship
- One-to-one, which fuels our personal vitality, sexuality, intimate relationships, and our experience of spiritual union
- Social, which forms our friendships, our participation in groups and community, and our social identity
Students will:
- Explore how the 27 instinctual subtypes operate in
- How we make choices about our personal priorities and major projects
- How subtypes affect our relationships at home and at work
- How to balance work, home and intimacy
- Managing the emotional habit of our type
- How to live with authenticity while adapting to a rapidly changing culture
- Deepen their experience of the Narrative Tradition by serving on a type panel and reflecting on their type.
- Explore and understand healthy functioning in all three of the subtypes related to their type.

- Attendance: If you have a scheduling conflict please contact the Registrar. If you need to miss more than 2 hours, you will need to sign up for another training.
- Credits: There are no CCE credits available at this time.
- Scholarships: Scholarships may be available. Please contact the Registrar.
- Technical Requirements: You will need a computer with internet access to participate in this program. Headphones are optional, but may be necessary.
