Discernment with the Enneagram: Exploring Your Types Resource Points
Discernment with the Enneagram: Exploring Your Types Resource Points
Sep 12, 2026
Overview
Learn how each of your Enneagram type’s resource points - the wings, stress, and security points - can support or hinder your growth and expand your perspective with new tools you can apply to your daily life and decision-making
- Would you like support in expanding your perspective? The Resource Points can help!
- Certified Narrative Enneagram Teacher and IEA Professional Sandra Smith will introduce you to the Enneagram Perspective Circle. This is a circle for discernment using the type’s four resource points (wings and connecting lines). Participants are invited to bring an issue or situation in which they want more perspective. We will seek perspective from these points to support our own discernment. The Enneagram Perspective Circle uses the Quaker Clearness Committee as a model.
- We'll also take a deeper dive into the Enneagram to explore what drives the vice or passion (emotional habit) of our type as well as what leads us to our virtue (open hearted quality). Sandra will introduce the sub-vice, which is the vice of our security point. We’ll also consider the midwife point, the virtue of our stress point, that serves to support the arising or our type’s virtue.
- During this one-day workshop, you will:
- • Dive beneath the vice to discover the workings of the sub-vice
- • Open to the midwife point that supports the arising of our virtue
- • Balance the wings for more balance in your life
- • Explore these new concepts and engage key work in type groups
- At the end of this workshop, you’ll have a stronger understanding of the inner dance of your vice and sub-vice in order to soften the impact of your type’s automatic patterns. You’ll also be familiar with how to engage the Enneagram Perspective Circle and your four resource points to expand your mindset.
- No Prerequisites. Students with all levels of Enneagram knowledge are encouraged to join.
