Community Gathering: New Teaching on the Resource Points

Overview
Join us for our Third Thursday gathering to consider the strengths and perspectives of our four resource points – the wings and connecting lines – and how they contribute to our growth.
- Our four resource points have much to offer in expanding our perspective and supporting our discernment. Wings and connecting lines are more than flavorings or stress and security points. Understanding these resource points helps us grasp the complexity and dynamics of the Enneagram more fully.
- By placing ourselves in a larger context within this system, and within our own self-understanding, our access to the gifts of these four points can support our growth and expand our perspectives.
- Each type’s resource points can bring balance and a reminder that much of what we need is within. Often, we overlook the gifts of the type we may know as our stress point. Yet this type can support us to grow beyond our idealized self. For example:
- •Type 9 may access the gifts of Type 6 by engaging the imagination more and asking hard questions
- •Type 1 may access the gifts of Type 4 by taking more time for reflection and self-care, allowing for creative options to emerge
- Sandra will share a brief teaching on our ‘sub-vice,” a term she created to name the vice (emotional habit) of our security point. It’s a worthy exploration that opens the door to a fresh study of our own vice or passion.
- An Enneagram teacher for 26 years, Sandra Smith offers workshops, trainings, and individual sessions internationally and is a mentor for students in The Narrative Enneagram’s Professional Certification Program. She co-hosts the podcast Heart of the Enneagram and is the author of The Enneagram Map to Your Deeper Self: Living Beyond Your Type.
- This session offers a preview of Sandra’s six-hour online program, Discernment with the Enneagram: Exploring Your Type’s Resource Points, scheduled for Saturday, September 12.
