Mike Alexander

Mike Alexander earned a BA in Criminal Justice, an MA in Organizational Leadership, and trained as a Life and Leadership Coach through the Professional Christian Coaching Institute. During his distinguished 38-year career in law enforcement, he served as chief of police and city manager in several cities after retiring from Austin Police Department. At the Louisiana Community Policing Institute, he evaluated the performance of police departments and sheriff offices in the area of community policing and made recommendations for implementation. He designed leadership and ethics curriculums that are still being taught throughout the United States. After his retirement from the Austin Police Department, Mike was employed as a Major with the Office of Inspector General Internal Affairs Section where he was in charge of a statewide Internal Affairs investigation division. Mike is the founder of LION (Loyalty Integrity Optimism Nobility) Organizational Development Institute, which focuses on healthy work environments, officer wellness, ethics, emotional intelligence and leadership. He is also principle owner of the LION Strategy Group, LLC, with a focus on stress management, mental health and the effects of trauma within emergency services, onsite security assessment, violence in the workplace, leadership placement and other organizational challenges.
